The city of Varna is the third largest in Bulgaria and locals refer to it as the marine capital or the summer of Bulgaria. Tourists have been coming to the city for many years and they visit to enjoy its many attractions which range from relaxing on the beaches to taking in the many different sights around the city.
The Sa Garden is one of the most popular places in the city and is visited by large numbers of visitors all year round. It is the largest and oldest park in the city with many plant and flower varieties and is home to the Planetarium and the Nicolaus Copernicus Observatory.
Also within the gardens are the Natural History Museum, the Varna Aquarium and several other attractions which are all within walking distance of each other. Many tourists will spend the entire day in the gardens, taking a walking tour to visit each different location in turn.
The Euxinograd Palace, built in the 19th is another attraction in Varna worth visiting. It was used as a summer palace by the Royal Family of Bulgaria and there are many amazing things to see in the palace itself. Beautifully sculptured statues, ponds with exotic plants and fountains will all create memories for many years to come. Guided tours are available, but many visitors choose to wander around the palace by themselves.
After visiting the Palace, it is a short trip to the Archaeological Museum, which houses many exhibits including a collection of gold treasure which is recognized as one of the oldest in Europe. For more history, visitors can visit the Naval Museum or The Wladyslaw Warnenczyk Museum which was built in 1935 and has several well maintained Roman baths as well as armaments dating back to the 15th century.
